The Timber Lodge Cafe is located in downtown St. Maries on Main Ave. This is one of our staple places for breakfast and lunch. The Chicken Fried Steak says it is a GIANT portion, and it does not disappoint! The burgers are hand pressed, and full of flavor. If you want to really embrace the Idaho lifestyle, you can upgrade your beef burger to ELK! (Insider tip - Try the tater tots with their fry sauce)
The Kid's menu has fun meal choices such as "I Don't Care", "I'm not Hungry", and "I want to Go Home"
Regardless of what you choose to eat, you will leave with a full belly, and your wallet will thank you - the prices are very reasonable.

The Grapple features 20 taps of beer, ciders, and seltzers in a laid back atmosphere. They even do seasonal adult slushees with rotating flavors. Where the Grapple really shines is in their food. They have few choices, but they are all executed well. You can choose from multiple options of loaded fries, but our favorite is their burgers. Served on a toasted bun of the perfect texture and consistency, these generously portioned burgers are topped with fresh ingredients - be sure to get the Grapple Sauce (You can't visit North Idaho without trying Fry Sauce!) to dip your crispy fries in. They have a small kitchen staff, and everything is made to order, so wait times can be a bit longer than expected. Not such a bad thing when you've got 20 taps to sample! Kids are welcome - They just can't sit at the bartop.

A crowd favorite is the Carne Asada - perfectly grilled and served with rice & beans and your choice of tortillas. You can't go wrong with one of their combination plates - choose from a Taco, Enchilada, Chimichanga, Chile Relleno, Tostada, or a burrito with your choice of meat.

Heide's is the place the loggers and mill workers eat breakfast. This place opens EARLY - Usually by 4:30am - to feed the workers that make St. Maries so unique. With meals to satisfy the appetite of even the hungriest lumberjack, you can count on good coffee, and plenty of good food to go with it. This unassuming café has a small dining room, but don't worry - they turn your orders around really quick. If you want to experience everything on one plate, go for the slum plate - eggs, potatoes, tons of meat, and make sure to cover it with their tasty sausage gravy. Don't wait too long to go in, they close around 2pm.
